Is an Aadhaar eSign signature actually admissible if we're challenged in court or an audit?
Yes. Under Sections 3A and 5 of the Information Technology Act, 2000, Aadhaar eSign carries the same legal standing as a signature made by hand. The signed record includes identity verification, timestamp and access logs, designed to meet the evidentiary standard a court or auditor expects. The Act does not extend to every instrument: wills, trusts, powers of attorney, negotiable instruments other than cheques and conveyances of immovable property still require a wet signature, and Legatio does not execute those electronically.
Does Legatio replace our institution's legal counsel?
No. Legatio is document execution infrastructure, not a law firm. Every template is lawyer-drafted, but your counsel remains the authority on your institution's specific legal position.
What happens to our records if we ever stop using Legatio?
Executed records remain accessible and exportable under Legatio's escrow continuity policy. Institutional data is never held hostage to a single vendor relationship.
